RIYADH: Saudi low-cost carrier flynas has ordered 25 additional Airbus aircraft, comprising 20 A321neos and five A330neos, taking its confirmed Airbus orders to 235 aircraft as it accelerates expansion across domestic and international markets.
The latest deal increases flynas’ confirmed orders for the A330neo to 20 aircraft, while its A320 family commitments now stand at 215 aircraft. The airline has placed total orders for 280 Airbus jets.
The agreement was signed by flynas CEO and Managing Director Bandar Al-Mohanna and Airbus Executive Vice President for Commercial Aircraft Sales Benoit de Saint-Exupéry. The signing was witnessed by Saudi Ambassador to the UK Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan, General Authority of Civil Aviation President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, and flynas Chairman Ayed Al-Jeaid.
Al-Mohanna said the additional aircraft will support the airline’s long-term fleet growth, enabling it to meet rising demand across its six Saudi operating bases while strengthening the expansion of flynas Syria.
He said the larger order book would allow the airline to enter new markets, expand its operational capabilities, and reinforce Saudi Arabia’s ambitions to become a global tourism and aviation hub. The expansion will also support the Kingdom’s Guests of the Merciful Program, which aims to improve access for pilgrims to the Two Holy Mosques.
