President Volodymyr Zelensky met with U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker and Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard, commander of the NATO Security Assistance and Training Mission for Ukraine, to discuss strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky announced the meeting on Facebook.
"We had a good talk – first and foremost on how to protect Ukrainian skies with more Patriot interceptor supplies through PURL. This is a critical priority now, as massive Russian attacks continue unabated," Zelensky said.
The parties also discussed bilateral defense cooperation between the United States and Ukraine, including the implementation of President Donald Trump's decision, adopted in Ankara, to grant Ukraine a license to produce Patriot systems, as well as the Drone Deal, which the teams of both countries are currently working to finalize.
"This has real potential, and we hope to get it finalized soon," Zelensky stressed.
