“EA Sports FC” has set World Cup recordbreaker Kylian Mbappé as its cover athlete for the “FC 27” Ultimate Edition, as well as the mobile version of the game created by Electronic Arts.
Mbappé last appeared in the franchise four years ago. Since then, the world renowned French soccer player moved to Real Madrid in 2024 and, during the most recent FIFA World Cup tournament, beat Lionel Messi’s all-time record after scoring his 22nd goal on Sunday.
“To be featured on the cover of an ‘EA Sports FC’ title for the first time is a very special moment for me,” Mbappé said in a statement. “It’s an honor to continue my long-term relationship with the franchise in its latest chapter, alongside the players who have shaped its history. I can’t wait for everyone to experience ‘FC 27.'”
Jeff Sharma, EA Sports FC”s VP of franchise strategy and marketing, added in his own statement: “We’re thrilled to welcome Kylian back to the franchise as the cover star of ‘EA Sports FC 27.’ Kylian’s achievements for both club and country have established him as one of the defining players of his generation.
