Hyderabad-based Zen Technologies announced on Wednesday that it has secured an order worth ₹177.5 crore, inclusive of GST, from the Ministry of Defence for the upgradation and integration of T-90 tank driving and crew gunnery simulators.The company, in a statement, said that this marks the first-ever order for an integrated T-90 crew training platform that enables tank drivers and gunners to train together in a single, immersive virtual environment.By replicating co-ordinated crew operations, the platform enhances teamwork, communication, and decision-making under realistic battlefield conditions, according to the statement.Commenting on the development, Ashok Atluri, Chairman and Managing Director, Zen Technologies, said integrated simulation will become a cornerstone of future armoured force training, enabling forces to prepare faster, train smarter, and maintain a higher state of operational readiness.“This opportunity extends far beyond India. Established defence forces are modernising ageing simulation infrastructure with more immersive, networked training systems, while many emerging military powers, particularly across the non-Western world, are investing in simulation for the first time”.“We believe this represents a significant long-term opportunity for Zen Technologies as defence organisations worldwide accelerate the adoption of next-generation simulation capabilities,” he addedCombat RealismThe simulators, Zen stated, are one hundred per cent indigenously designed and developed in the country, featuring an immersive 3D battlefield environment. They replicate realistic operational scenarios across diverse terrains with dynamic weather, day and night conditions, and battlefield effects.For real-time effect, the simulators offer AI-enabled opposing forces. Intelligent adversaries create adaptive combat scenarios that challenge crews with realistic tactical situations, the company stated.At the same time, it reduces operating costs by minimising the need for live vehicle deployment, ammunition expenditure, and equipment wear, while increasing training availability.
