Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk have agreed on specific steps to strengthen coordination between the government and parliament.
Koretskyi announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
"The government will hold regular meetings with the leaders of parliamentary factions and groups. We also agreed to strengthen coordination between parliamentary committees and ministries," the Prime Minister said.
The two officials also agreed to resume the work of the Coalition Council to improve the quality of government-sponsored legislation and ensure more effective cooperation between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada. In addition, they will conduct a comprehensive review of Ukraine's international commitments to better synchronize their implementation with parliament. Going forward, positions on such issues will be coordinated through dialogue.
Koretskyi also pledged to review the transitional provisions of every law that assigns responsibilities to the Cabinet of Ministers.
