Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert

Southampton head coach Tonda Eckert has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association (FA) over his role in the club’s Championship “Spygate” scandal.

As reported by BBC Sport on Wednesday, the FA confirmed that Eckert has been charged with three breaches of Rule E3.1 relating to alleged misconduct between December 2025 and May 2026.

The governing body said it was alleged that the Southampton coach acted improperly and brought the game into disrepute by directing and/or authorising the observation of opposition training sessions.

Southampton were expelled from the Championship play-offs in May after admitting to spying on three clubs during the season.
