Muscat: Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, has said that grooming the Omani citizen constitutes a pillar of comprehensive, sustainable development.In a statement during the launch of the 3rd edition of the 2026 Military Discipline Programme, Sayyid Saud said, “The Programme embodies the Ministry’s commitment to invest in the segment of young people as part of a strategic partnership between the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Education. The programme seeks to consolidate the values of loyalty, the spirit of belonging to the nation and the principles of national responsibility, with the prime objective of achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040." He explained that the programme offers an integrated system that combines military training, sports skills and the acquisition of general knowledge—with the aim of shaping the personalities of students, enhancing level of discipline, propagating the culture of resourcefulness and raising their sense of responsibility.As many as 1,000 students from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman benefit from the programme this year, said the minister.
