The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, says stronger international partnerships are essential to advancing Nigeria’s development, particularly in education, healthcare and poverty reduction.

Obi disclosed this in a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday following a meeting with the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Egloff.

According to him, the meeting focused on Nigeria’s development journey, with discussions centred on key sectors critical to improving the lives of citizens.

“I met with the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Egloff, and we had a productive and engaging discussion on our country’s developmental journey, with particular emphasis on the critical sectors that drive development: education, healthcare, and lifting people out of poverty,” Obi said.

He expressed appreciation to the Swiss Confederation for its continued support to Nigeria, particularly in the areas of economic development, humanitarian assistance, cultural cooperation and peace-building efforts in the North-East.
