Williams’ guardian claimed that Where Is Wendy Williams? was made while the former talk show host was “incapable of consenting to being filmed"
Wendy Williams’ guardian has settled the lawsuit over Lifetime’s Where Is Wendy Williams? doc.
According to court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, Williams’ guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and the defendants — which include Lifetime and its parent company, A&E Network — filed a joint motion to resolve the matter which covered the settlement agreement, the proposed attorneys’ fees and costs to be paid to Williams’ attorneys, and the proposed distribution of any settlement payment.
Just days before the doc’s 2024 release, Williams’ care team revealed that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. Morrissey first sued Lifetime, A&E Network, and other producers on the doc in February 2024, hoping to block the film’s rollout. Her effort was unsuccessful.
