BlackRock, Ford and Alphabet Team Up To Tackle America's Skilled Labor Crisis— Here's What To Know - Blac

(NYSE:F), Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and workwear maker Carhartt on Tuesday launched the Alliance for America's Skilled Trades, a new initiative aimed at expanding access to skilled trades training and helping address the country's growing shortage of qualified workers.

The founding members said they have already committed to supporting workforce training initiatives across 30 U.S. states.

The alliance seeks to expand awareness of careers in the skilled trades, invest in apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs and bring together businesses, labor groups, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations to strengthen the workforce pipeline.
