The California-based battery developer and Mercedes partner says it will use the capital to scale production of its Titan Silicon anode material in the United States. The funding will also support the second expansion phase of Sila’s production site in Moses Lake. The company completed construction of the facility and started operations in autumn 2025. Located on a 160-acre site, the plant currently has an initial production capacity equivalent to 2 GWh of battery materials per year.
Sila plans to expand the site in stages to a capacity of up to 250 GWh over the next five years. If completed as planned, the company says Moses Lake, Washington, would become the world’s largest anode production facility. The expansion is also expected to create several hundred additional jobs in Washington State.
The financing round was led by Atreides Management and Sutter Hill Ventures, with participation from existing and new investors including 8VC, Bessemer Venture Partners, Matrix Partners and funds advised by T. Rowe Price Associates.
