In 2013, she also appeared on the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnering pro dancer Kevin Clifton.‌Although she is a firm favourite on TV and has become a household name across the UK, the telly star has often remained reserved about her private life.‌Back in 1998, she started dating fellow journalist Dominic Cotton and the pair share three children together, Sam, Finn, and Jack. The pair first met when they both worked at the BBC, where he was a sports presenter.In 2014, though, it was announced that Susanna and Dominic had called it quits after 16 years. Their split came shortly after participating in Strictly Come Dancing. The newsreader has always maintained that the BBC show had nothing to do with their split but did admit it was a "parallel universe of sequins and stardust."She told The Mirror: "Over 16 years, you're going to change a bit, both of you. Would it have happened anyway? I don't know. I don't analyse it."‌The couple, who never married, continued co-parenting their three boys while living under the same roof for some time after their split. She revealed to The Sun's Fabulous magazine at the time: "We still get on so well.“Dom is still such a hands-on dad, and we really co-parent. So, we live separately but together, happily, in the same house. I'm not saying everybody can do it, and I definitely think people are surprised that we can do it this way."‌Around the time of their split, it was reported that Susanna’s busy workload - appearing on Strictly and BBC Breakfast - played a part in their decision to end things.Dominic even admitted in 2013 that Susanna’s Strictly commitments had taken their toll. He said, “Her schedule has been really full-on.‌“I'm looking forward to having my partner back. It's been tough, but we knew it would be. We knew it would be an enormous commitment, but we discussed it, and I was so happy to back her to do it."What’s more, in 2018, Susanna revealed that she knew her relationship with Dominic would end after she gifted him a very unromantic Christmas present.Talking about bad Christmas gifts on GMB, Susanna said: “For mine and Dom's first Christmas, I gave him an electric toothbrush. If we were married, Ben [Shephard], you'd think that was a sign of love.
