Amazon's founder and executive chairman is the fourth-richest man in the world, with a net worth of over £190billion.Liverpool's owners, Fenway Sports Group, confirmed on Tuesday that a consortium led by Amit Bhatia expressed interest in investing in the Premier League club. Bhatia was previously a co-owner and director of Queens Park Rangers.FSG said in a statement to our sister title the Liverpool ECHO: "An investment consortium led, managed and represented by Amit Bhatia has expressed interest in making a strategic minority investment in Liverpool Football Club."Sky News reports that Bezos has spoken about joining Bhatia's syndicate. However, they cite a source when claiming the billionaire is not certain to invest.The consortium is understood to have already the backing of Lakshmi Mittal, Bhatia's father-in-law. He is worth over £20billion and led a £1billion-plus takeover of the Indian Premier League's Rajasthan Royals in May.However, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, no investment deal is in place with Liverpool yet, with discussions over a "significant minority stake" only at a preliminary stage.
