Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis on Monday threatened to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia amid the U.S.

The group cited "an unjust and oppressive siege" imposed ​on Yemen by the Saudis as the reason for the blockade.

Houthis Warn Shipping Companies The group has gone a step ahead and sent an email to shipping companies, warning them not to load or discharge cargo at Saudi Arabian ports, according to a report by Reuters.

"We strongly ​recommend that your company exercise due diligence and the utmost care in all its dealings," the email read, according to the report.
