Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis on Monday threatened to impose a maritime blockade on Saudi Arabia amid the U.S.
Iran war.
The group cited "an unjust and oppressive siege" imposed on Yemen by the Saudis as the reason for the blockade.
Houthis Warn Shipping Companies The group has gone a step ahead and sent an email to shipping companies, warning them not to load or discharge cargo at Saudi Arabian ports, according to a report by Reuters.
"We strongly recommend that your company exercise due diligence and the utmost care in all its dealings," the email read, according to the report.
