Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL) has invested ₹1,23,89,43,300 in Aditya Birla Health Insurance Co. Ltd (ABHI) through a rights issue, the company announced.The investment was made in cash, with ABHI allotting the equity shares on 21 July 2026. The stated purpose of the investment is to help ABHI meet its solvency margin requirements, a regulatory threshold insurers must maintain to cover policyholder liabilities.ABCL's percentage shareholding in ABHI remains unchanged at 45.89 per cent following the transaction. The company clarified that ABHI continues to be classified as an associate of ABCL, not a subsidiary.Since ABHI is a related party of ABCL, the transaction falls within the related party transaction framework. The company said the deal was conducted at arm's length.On the bourses on Wednesday, ABCL shares were trading at ₹406.75 on the NSE, down 0.56 per cent from the previous close of ₹409.05. The stock touched a 52-week high of ₹411.40 intraday on the same day. The company's total market capitalisation stands at approximately ₹1,11,402 crore.ABCL has delivered returns of 51.57 per cent over the past year and 119.08 per cent over three years, significantly outperforming the Nifty 200 benchmark over the same period.Published on July 22, 2026
