AS THE countdown begins for the release of Vijay’s highly anticipated film, Jana Nayagan, fans across the globe are buzzing with excitement. The movie, which marks what the South Indian superstar claims will be his final film, has generated unprecedented interest, not just for its star power but for a groundbreaking distinction: it will be the first Indian film to start its credits with the designation of "Honourable Chief Minister".
That is because Vijay assumed the position of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state just over two months ago, so instead of the opening credit of Thalapathy Vijay’’ (Commander Vijay) that his movies have opened with for the past two decades or so, this time it will read on screen "The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay".
Hundreds of shows in India and across the world for the opening of the movie this weekend have been sold out already, and the film is expected to rank among the biggest profit-makers for producers of all time.
The movie will also be shown across South Africa from this Friday, distributor of South Indian movies in the country, Elavarasan Varadharajan, confirmed to the POST.
