Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, whom President Volodymyr Zelensky has designated as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said he would carry out his duties with responsibility and respect for those defending the country.
He wrote this in a Facebook post, according to Ukrinform.
"I thank the President of Ukraine for his trust, the Defense Minister for his support, and the Defense Forces for this new stage of my service," Drapatyi said.
According to the major general, serving Ukraine has always been an honor for him, and during the war for independence it means bearing absolute responsibility.
He also expressed gratitude to General Oleksandr Syrskyi for his consistent efforts to strengthen Ukraine's armed forces.
