Starting on Wednesday, people in Cyprus will be able to buy shares in the new Pancyprian Cooperative Holdings and Cooperative Promotion Society through a newly launched online platform.
The platform, available at shares.pccpc.cy, allows anyone to become a member by purchasing a minimum of 100 shares, priced at €1 each – meaning a minimum investment is €100.
Payments of up to €10,000 can be made online using a bank card through JCC payment system, with the money deposited into a dedicated account at the Bank of Cyprus. For investments above €10,000, payments must be made by bank transfer after contacting the organization’s support team.
The public share offer will remain open until November 17. For many Cypriots, it is the first opportunity in years to buy into such a society after the collapse of the old Cooperative Bank.
Before investing, the organization is encouraging prospective buyers to carefully read the approved prospectus and the terms of the public offer to fully understand both the potential risks and benefits. It also stressed that approval of the prospectus should not be seen as an endorsement of the shares themselves.
