The London Stock Exchange (LSE) has unveiled a new extended hours trading platform as it battles to win back retail investors.

In a bid to lure younger investors away from cryptocurrency and overseas markets that already offer round-the-clock investing, the exchange will launch LSE 24 from next year.

The move could also provide a much-needed boost to a sluggish market that has been hit by a wave of foreign takeovers amid an IPO drought.
