July 21 (UPI) -- Two American tourists were stabbed in Athens, Greece, Tuesday morning, outside of the entrance to the Acropolis, and a man was arrested on the scene.
The incident happened at around 8 a.m. local time at the southern entrance to the Acropolis archaeological site, one of the busiest tourist sites in Athens.
The couple are reportedly Greek-Americans. The woman suffered a minor injury to her arm, and the man suffered a more serious injury to his leg.
Police from a motorcycle unit arrived first and bandaged the man's leg to stop the bleeding. When an ambulance arrived, the couple were taken to a local hospital.
