Thandiswa Marawu, the Chief Whip of the African Transformation Movement (ATM), recently wrote to Bridgette Staff Masango, the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Social Development.
In her letter, she called for an investigation into the growing crisis of fathers being denied access to their children and the impact on children, families and society as a whole.
She said South Africa was confronted with a silent crisis that received far too little attention from policymakers and legislators.
