July 21 (UPI) -- Former Riverdale show-runner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on a new live-action series called Afterlife with Archie.
"To say that I'm thrilled and terrified (in the best way) to be adapting "Afterlife with Archie," the comic series I co-created with genius @f_francavilla, would be an understatement," Aguirre-Sacasa wrote on Instagram Monday.
"I just friggin' love these characters so damn much. In the years since Riverdale ended, they've NEVER been far from my mind and heart, is the truth."
Deadline.com reported that the hour-long, zombie-apocalypse drama is expected to premiere on Disney+ in the fall of 2027.
