The suspect, identified as a 34-year-old man with the initials LHM and the alias Hayden, was taken into custody on July 17. The arrest took place during a joint operation conducted by airport police and customs officers, according to Antara News.
"We arrested a foreign national from Singapore and seized thousands of pieces of evidence during the operation," Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Police Chief Senior Commissioner Wisnu Wardana told the Indonesian state news agency.
Officers reportedly caught the suspect in the act of mixing and preparing etomidate when they entered the property, which is located in the upscale Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) District.
During the raid, authorities confiscated large quantities of vape cartridges ready for distribution, alongside laboratory-style equipment believed to be used in the drug production process.
A police spokesperson told news outlet IDN Times that the suspect had been "given a target of producing 500 etomidate cartridges a day."
