Westlands robbery suspects arrested after dramatic sixth-floor escape bid failed
Detectives have arrested three suspects linked to the armed robbery at Chaiiwali Restaurant along General Mathenge Road in Westlands, Nairobi, as the hunt for members of the gang intensifies.
The suspects were arrested following an intelligence-led operation by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters at an apartment in Githurai Mwiki, where they had reportedly gone into hiding.
According to a social media post by DCI, the trio attempted to escape through the back of the building by climbing down from the sixth floor after detecting the officers' presence.
However, members of the public raised the alarm, enabling detectives to arrest them.
