An AK-47 assault rifle with a specific serial number has emerged as a key piece of evidence in the state's case against tenderpreneur Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and his four co-accused, whose trial continues in the Johannesburg High Court on Tuesday.
The weapon, a Russian-model AK-47 bearing serial number 575363, featured prominently as the state formally outlined its case on Monday.
Matlala, flanked by his wife and three alleged accomplices in the dock, pleaded not guilty to all 25 charges against them.
