Shira Lazar is an Emmy-nominated digital culture host and founder of the media brand What’s Trending, which has been covering internet culture, digital creators, and tech since 2011. The Canadian entrepreneur, 43, is also a mental health advocate who uses her platform of nearly 1 million followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to spread awareness of the mental health crisis affecting the creator community. In October 2025, she launched Creators 4 Mental Health (C4MH), a global advocacy initiative to bring mental health education, research, and care to digital creators. In partnership with the consulting firm Lupiani Insights & Strategies, C4MH published the first comprehensive study on content creator mental health; and in response to the study’s findings, Lazar launched CreatorCare, a therapy service in collaboration with Revive Health Therapy that would provide creators with affordable mental health care tailored to their needs. Earlier this year, Lazar also helped California Congressman Ro Khanna introduce a Creator Bill of Rights, which seeks to ensure access to health-care benefits, transparency from platforms, and other support for creators.Powered by Whalar Group
