In the 10 months since a girl’s severely decomposed remains were found in d4vd’s abandoned car, prosecutors have described in gruesome detail how they believe the famed singer killed and dismembered the 14-year-old runaway to prevent her from disclosing details about their relationship.
The 21-year-old musician, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder with special circumstances, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and mutilating human remains following the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Now, a judge is expected to hear evidence in the case and decide whether there’s enough to move forward with a trial. A preliminary hearing is scheduled to begin Tuesday in Los Angeles and could last several days.
