Photo credit: X/@jreynoldsMP and @AngelaRaynerBritain’s new Prime Minister Andy Burnham has reinstated Jonathan Reynolds ‌and Angela Rayner to key ministerial positions, Burnham's office said in a statement on Monday.According to Reuters, Reynolds was named secretary ⁠of state for business, innovation, science and trade after losing his position as business minister to Peter Kyle in a reshuffle under former Prime Minister Keir Starmer.On the other hand, Rayner returned as housing minister after quitting her ⁠roles as housing secretary, deputy prime minister and deputy Labour Party leader last year after admitting she ⁠had unintentionally underpaid taxes on a property purchase. She was also found guilty of breaching the ministerial code of conduct. Rayner also posted on X expressing her delight in aaccepting the new position in Burnham's cabinet.In May, she said she ⁠had been cleared of deliberate wrongdoing over her tax affairs.Andy Burnham formed a new government after becoming Labour leader last week, becoming the country's fourth prime minister in five years and the seventh since 2016.The formation of the new government is marked by a complete cabinet overhaul, including the appointment of John Healey as chancellor, Ed Miliband as foreign secretary and Shabana Mahmood as home secretary.Burnham has also ousted several prominent members of Starmer’s Cabinet, including Rachel Reeves, David Lammy, and Lord Richard Hermer.
