WeatherMet OfficeThe Met Office have warned of 'very warm' conditions in August as another heatwave is set to hit the UK with a possibility of thunderstorms07:17, 21 Jul 2026The Met Office have issued its verdict as another heatwave is likely to cause chaos across the UK next month.‌The forecaster has warned conditions could turn "very warm by the start of August” as weather maps indicate highs of 37C.‌The long range forecast for July 31 to August 14 warns of a "somewhat more changeable period" as the extreme heat may also be accompanied by showers.‌Although the start of the month may see sunny spells interrupted by downpours, temperatures will be near or above normal.The forecaster also note that temperatures will be "warmest in the south, and perhaps becoming very warm again by the start of August."‌In this period areas in the south are expected to see the hottest temperatures with London reaching 32C.Temperatures will be the highest in Sussex and Gloucestershire at 36C and 37C.As warm conditions are expected to continue, with highs of 33C on August 1 in London and peaks of 34C in Suffolk and Norfolk, the weather channel anticipate thunderstorm conditions.Article continues belowA statement from the Met Office says: "Higher pressure is considered generally more likely than lower pressure through August. This means settled and dry weather will likely prevail, especially across the south.
