A pregnant woman's Carnival cruise to the Bahamas ended prematurely after she was evacuated by emergency responders.The 29-year-old woman, who began experiencing pregnancy complications, was evacuated by the US Coast Guard on Thursday, officials said.The woman was transported from the Carnival Sunrise on the same day it set sail from Miami, Florida, according to Cruise Hive.The trip was scheduled to include four nights of sailing with stops at Princess Cays and Nassau in the Bahamas.However, her trip ended about 4 miles northeast of Government Cut, the channel connecting PortMiami to the Atlantic Ocean, roughly 6 miles from South Beach.The US Coast Guard Southeast wrote in a Facebook post that the rescue began after Sector Miami watchstanders received a call from the ship's security manager requesting assistance.Officials said the woman was safely brought ashore and transferred to EMS personnel before being taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center.'Medical emergencies can happen anywhere. Coast Guard Southeast District crews remain always ready to respond and help get those in distress to the care they need,' the US Coast Guard Southeast wrote.
