The South African Communist Party (SACP) has vehemently condemned the ongoing US-Israeli attack on Iran, saying that such actions blatantly violate international law and have caused the Iranian people great suffering and destroyed the precarious ceasefire.
This occurs as Washington extended its strikes throughout the Islamic Republic on Monday, encompassing a city that is home to a nuclear power plant.
The US government resumed its military campaign against Iran, intensifying its war efforts, following a brief lull in hostilities. US actions abruptly broke the 82-day ceasefire that had been mediated on April 8.
"Concurrent US and Israeli actions against Lebanon, specifically targeting desalination plants and hospitals, reveal clear evidence of common genocidal intent and war crimes," the SACP stated while reaffirming our support for Iran. "We call for continued unity of all anti-imperialist forces," the party added.
