The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the alleged murder of a 26-year-old man, Nsikak Joshua, who was reportedly beaten to death and buried in a shallow grave in Oboetim Ikot Ekong Village, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the suspects were arrested following an investigation into the incident.

According to John, the case was reported to the police on July 14, 2026, by the victim’s father, 52-year-old Ekere, who alleged that his only son was beaten to death by Otobong Nelson, also known as “Efok Ikid,” alongside Inemesit Robert, Utibe Clement, and Victor Robert.

She stated that the complainant alleged that the suspects brought his son’s corpse and forced him to indicate where the body should be buried.
