MANILA, Philippines – Cash withdrawals continued to increase in 2025, but at a slower pace, as softer economic growth dampened demand for cash, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
The value of banknotes withdrawn from the central bank rose 6.2 percent from a year earlier to P1.6 trillion in 2025, the BSP said in its annual report.

While withdrawals continued to grow, the increase marked a sharp slowdown from the 12.5-percent growth recorded in 2024.
