July 20 (UPI) -- The director of the Trump administration's Center for AI Standards and Innovation resigned Monday after three months in the role.
The agency announced the departure of Chris Fall and named Arvind Raman, director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, its new acting director. Raman will also be involved in the search for a permanent director.
The Center for AI Standards and Innovation falls under the purview of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Fall's resignation comes as the Trump administration and lawmakers on Capitol Hill wrestle with how to regulate the growing industry of artificial intelligence.
