July 20 (UPI) -- A man fishing off the coast of Phuket, Thailand, rescued a monkey spotted swimming in the water and showing signs of exhaustion.
A video of the rescue shows the man floating a life jacket out to the monkey to help it reach the boat and giving the simian some water from a bottle.
The monkey climbed aboard the vessel and was given a life back to the shore.
The rescue occurred off the coast of Koh Maphrao, also known as Coconut Island. The man suggested the money may have swam from Koh Siray, more than 3 miles away.
