A DELIVERY driver was pistol- whipped and robbed of cash and several packages after a man posing as a customer lured him to a delivery address in Pleasantville, San Fernando on Saturday afternoon.According to police reports, the driver, employed with the 'O Deliver' company, was driving to a location along the corner of Flamingo and Ibis Drive, Pleasantville to deliver a package for a customer named 'Kemani' with whom he was in communication via cell phone.The driver told the police that when he saw the 'customer' approaching, he parked the vehicle. The driver said that when the 'customer' approached him and requested to see his package, he became suspicious and stated the price of it.The 'customer' then pointed a firearm at the driver, and the two began to scuffle. The driver reported that he was struck several times on his face and upper body with the firearm, and during the scuffle, an unloaded magazine ejected from the firearm and fell on the ground near the driver's door.The driver said a second man then approached the delivery van and the armed suspect then demanded, 'Give me everything'. The suspects robbed the driver of approximately $5,000 cash before the accomplice opened the door of the delivery van and removed several packages from inside.The two suspects then fled the scene with the stolen cash and packages by running into Flamingo Drive.The driver contacted the police, and officers of the Mon Repos CID responded and recovered the empty firearm magazine on the road.PC Elliott of the Mon Repos Police Station is continuing investigations.
