The Rivers State Police Command has flagged off a 14-day health assessment outreach tagged ‘Know Your Numbers’ for officers and men of the command.
The outreach, designed to check officers’ vital signs and other medical conditions commonly associated with their work environment, is being conducted in partnership with Police Health Maintenance Limited and a non-governmental organisation, Healthlink and Bridge Initiative.
Performing the official flag-off on Monday at the command headquarters in Port Harcourt, the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, said the command recognised that the strength of the force lies in the wellbeing of its officers and their families.
Represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Alhassan Kawu, Adepoju assured officers that their welfare and that of their families remained a top priority of the command.
He said the health assessment outreach was the command’s way of appreciating officers and their families for working round the clock to keep Rivers State safe.
