Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Somu Veerraju has said the current political environment does not allow any leader from the Kapu community to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.Speaking at an event held here on Monday to pay tributes to Kapu leaders Mudragada Padmanabham and G.S. Rao, Mr. Veerraju, a former president of the Bharatiya Janata Party State unit, said, “We, the Kapu community, need to deeply understand today’s politics in Andhra Pradesh that will not let any Kapu leader become the Chief Minister. Everybody needs to introspect why towering personalities from the community are not being allowed to join the parties, including the BJP.'’The Kapu community unit in the city organised the event in memory of former MP, four-time MLA and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham, who passed away on July 14, and Kovvuru-based former president of Kapu Nadu and AP Congress Committee G.S. Rao, who died on July 11.
