The owner of viral bakery Get Baked lambasted ITV bosses after receiving an email requesting the company provide sweet treats for its green room in return for 'exposure'16:13, 20 Jul 2026Updated 16:13, 20 Jul 2026An independent bakery owner has hit out at the Voice UK after being asked to provide the ITV show's guests and judges with free cakes and cookies.‌Rich Myers, the founder of viral company Get Baked, revealed the approach was made ahead of filming for the next series. The 37-year-old shared a screenshot of an email, which requested support in providing his “amazing products for our talent dressing rooms and green rooms”.‌It stated that ITV was unable to pay but the treats, but added it would be seen by "highly influential" presenters, coaches and contestants. The owner labelled the move a "total disgrace" after being left outraged that he was asked to supply products in return for so-called "exposure".‌Get Baked, well known for their viral multi-layered Big Bertha chocolate cakes and incredible quirky deserts, have been supported by many of its hundreds of thousands of followers for calling out the approach.Mr Myers uploaded a screenshot of the email, which read: “My name is [blank] and I’m working on ITV’s The Voice this year.‌“We have a very high calibre of talent lined up for the show, along with our celebrity coaches who are soon to be revealed. We start filming in a couple of months, and we are looking for amazing products to boost their long working days!”It goes on to ask the businessman if there would be anything he could help with, but was told: “Unfortunately, we at ITV are unable to offer anything monetary or otherwise in return for your products.‌"But if you did agree to provide us with your products, it would have exposure to our highly influential coaches and presenters in the studios, as well as our contestants on the show, all of whom are incredibly talented.”The owner could hardly believe it and captioned the posted on the Get Baked Instagram account: “I actually thought this was a wind up, but it’s totally real. ITV and Lifted Entertainment, you’re a total disgrace. Honestly, how did we get here? Stop whatever this is because I wanna get off.”He then shared his email response, writing back: “I must admit, I’m trying really hard not to bite at this stuff as of late, but on this occasion I simply cannot resist. I’m not blaming you, because I don’t doubt it’s obviously part of your job to send this email, but I would please ask that you tell the following people to f*** off on my behalf."‌But the businessman wasn't done there. After being asked for further comment, he said: “I’ve never seen The Voice, but a quick search shows that their viewings have gone from 8.6m in 2015 to 2.8m in 2024.“They can reach out to me if they want any marketing assistance, although that won’t be free either.”A Lifted Entertainment spokesperson said: "We apologise for any upset this has caused and are reaching out to Rich Myers directly.
