The Kadapa district police have termed a report that appeared in a section of the media, claiming that a woman was allegedly subjected to humiliation during a melee in Badvel town of Kadapa district on Saturday (July 18, 2026), as totally baseless.According to the police, an ongoing land dispute between Pinnam Venkataiah of Badvel and Ayyavaramma of Proddatur regarding a three-cent house site flared up on Saturday. Bojja Tirumalesh of Kadapa, who claimed to have purchased the disputed property from Ayyavaramma, accosted Pinnam Venkataiah. Upon receiving information, the Badvel town police reached the spot and brought the situation under control by dispersing both groups and registering a case under Sec 194 (2) of the BNS.However, a section of the media reported that a woman’s blouse was allegedly torn in the melee and that she was subjected to humiliation during the incident. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Mydukur) G. Rajendra Prasad condemned the news as false, baseless, and contrary to the facts. “Spreading false stories that involve the modesty of a woman may create unnecessary hatred among the public,” he said, warning those who spread fabricated or provocative information through any form of media.
