Pasumai Ulagam, a non-governmental organisation, organised a financial literacy training programme for 30 women in Erode recently. According to a release, the NGO, which has been working since 2000 to support marginalised women, their children and underprivileged youth in rural areas and urban slums, conducted the programme to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with basic financial management skills.The programme was chaired by Pasumai Ulagam founder G. Manamohan. The organisation’s Chief Executive Officer T. Sheela explained the distribution of grants worth ₹3 lakh among the beneficiaries and spoke on bookkeeping, marketing strategies and methods to ensure sustainable income generation.
