The Western Digital My Book line is designed to store a lot of data while also having plenty of security. It comes with software to manage the device, including basic things like password protection, but it also has things like 256-bit AES hardware encryption as well. It means that whatever you put on this will be pretty much impossible to get to without knowing the password, and it’s built to be sturdy and pretty quick as well. That’s fast for an HDD though, not fast for an SSD. Don’t expect the speed of the latter on anything like this.
Of course, the big draw here is the sheer size of the storage itself. 8TB is an absurdly large amount of memory no matter how you look at it, and it’s going to save down all sorts of things. Plus, because it’s an external hard drive, you can use it between different devices as well, always using the storage wherever it is that you actually need it. That’s a very big deal.
