DrexxBeats and Sineym have released Sikhulekile, a new single blending African rhythms, Afro-pop influences and a celebration of love, commitment and culture.
A previously SAMA-nominated multi-genre music producer, DJ and engineer, DrexxBeats, has released his latest single, Sikhulekile, featuring singer and songwriter Sineym.
Meaning "We Are Free", Sikhulekile is a love song inspired by the promises couples make through wedding vows. The track explores the beauty of choosing love, building a future together, and embracing the freedom that comes from a relationship grounded in trust, loyalty and companionship.
The song blends Zimbabwean drums and percussion with the melodic appeal and accessibility of South African Afro-pop to create what DrexxBeats describes as "Tribal House".
"The vision was to create a song that feels authentic to who we are as Africans," says DrexxBeats. "The percussion and rhythmic foundation are inspired by Zimbabwean music traditions, while the melodies and songwriting draw from South African Afro-pop.
