Euphoria fans were left feeling emotional after HBO Max shared a special announcement for the series.12:55, 20 Jul 2026Euphoria fans can see their favourite stars one last time as they continue to mourn the end of the hit series.‌‌Streaming behemoth HBO Max has unveiled that Euphoria will return with a one-off retrospective episode.‌On Instagram, the platform teased audiences can "relive the feeling" during a nostalgic look at the groundbreaking series, showcasing interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes material from the programme that defined a generation.The programme garnered countless honours throughout its run, securing 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations and nine victories.The eight-episode third and final season, which sealed Rue's (Zendaya) fate, aired between April and May 2026, with the new one-off special arriving on HBO Max on July 24.‌HBO Max's official Instagram account posted a clip of some of the cast members reflecting on their journeys. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Angus Cloud and other major stars from the series are seen reflecting on how the show changed their lives."This show has been the most profound experience of my career," the late Eric Dane is heard saying in a posthumous appearance following his death in February after a battle with ALS- a form of motor neurone disease.‌The series has tragically lost a number of stars since it began airing, including Angus Cloud, who also appears in the retrospective episode.The Fezco O'Neill star died at the age of 25 back in July 2023 and as a tribute, Euphoria's director Sam Levinson incorporated archived footage of his character in the grand finale.His character was initially meant to die at the end of the first season, but he quickly became a fan-favourite and was kept on.‌Fans took to the Instagram comments to share their thoughts following the announcement of the one-off special, with one saying: "Best cast EVER!!!!"Another shared: "Feels like watching my long lost friends," while a third added: "Oh I’m so locked in." A fourth chimed in: "Don’t bother me on July 24th, I am sat."‌Many were quick to pay tribute to the late stars, with one fan commenting: "Rest easy Eric & Angus," while another added: "I miss them, especially Eric and Angus."When HBO confirmed the series was ending with Season 3, actor Toby Wallace, who plays drug dealer Wayne, told the BBC the final season had a deliberately different vibe, sharing: "I remember walking on to their season going like 'Okay this is definitely a little bit of a different show'."I don't think you can really treat it as exactly the same vibe as the last two seasons, because it's not in a lot of ways.
