RTX Corp. (NYSE:RTX) stock rose in Monday’s premarket session after the aerospace and defense company secured a major engine order from British Airways.

British Airways Selects Pratt & Whitney Engines

British Airways selected Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, to power 33 firm Airbus A320neo aircraft, with options for 30 additional planes.

The agreement also includes a 12-year EngineWise Comprehensive services contract to maintain the engines. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.

RTX said its geared turbofan (GTF) engines reduce fuel consumption by up to 20% and cut the noise footprint by as much as 75% compared with previous-generation engines.
