Eligible vehicles continue to receive Nissan’s standard three-year or 60,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty. Once this expires, customers can activate an additional 12 months of warranty cover each year by completing a qualifying service at an authorised Nissan dealer or repairer. The extension can be renewed annually until the vehicle reaches six years of age or 100,000 miles.
The programme applies to the new Micra EV, the all-new Leaf and the 2026 model year Ariya. According to Nissan, all future battery-electric passenger cars launched by the brand will also be eligible. The scheme also covers used examples of the qualifying models, provided they meet the manufacturer’s servicing requirements.
To remain eligible, owners must follow Nissan’s recommended service schedule and ensure the final service before the OEM warranty expires is carried out within the authorised network. Vehicles that have previously been serviced outside the Nissan network may also qualify, provided they have a complete service history. If this cannot be demonstrated, Nissan says an additional inspection may be required before warranty cover can be reinstated.
The new programme applies independently of Nissan’s existing lithium-ion battery warranty, which remains unchanged. The battery continues to be covered for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
