VOVE ID, a Morocco-based compliance infrastructure company, has opened applications for a programme that will help African startups assess weaknesses in their customer onboarding, fraud prevention and regulatory compliance systems.
The VOVE Compliance Infrastructure Program will select six to eight startups operating in regulated or trust-sensitive sectors for tailored assessments covering Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, governance and audit readiness. Applications close on August 20, after which selected startups will participate in a compliance workshop and one-on-one readiness reviews.
The program launch comes as African regulators move to tighten anti-money laundering controls and transaction monitoring requirements. In March, Nigeria’s Central Bank formally recognised artificial intelligence as a tool for monitoring financial crime. In January, South Africa’s National Treasury published an anti-money laundering draft bill after exiting the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) greylist in October 2025.
“Founders do not need another compliance lecture. They need a practical way to understand what matters now, what evidence they should maintain, and what to fix before growth creates pressure,” said Khalid Aoussar, founder of VOVE ID. “The VOVE Compliance Infrastructure Program is designed to help startups turn KYC, KYB, compliance, and fraud controls into practical infrastructure for trust, security, and growth.”
