One dead and seven were injured when a BEST bus rammed into a roadside divider on Monday (July 20, 2026) near in Mumbai’s Mankhurd region. The accident involving BEST Bus 501 occurred around 9:14am on Sion Panvel Highway, opposite Vishwakarma Hospital in Mankhurd.According Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), at least 10 injured were taken to Rajawadi and Govandi Shatabdi Hospital. Dr. Heero, the Medical Officer at Rajawadi Hospital confirmed one victim has died and five more are undergoing treatment. The deceased, Bhaskar Raosaheb Pande (65), was pronounced dead on arrival.The injured admitted to the hospital are identified as Shivmangal Maity (42), Ganesh Patel (24), ata Waghela (43), Rajesh Varugamina (35), and Ankita Jadhav (22).Vaibhav Waghmare (41), the conductor, and Banvari Shriram Prasad Sharma (51), the bus driver, underwent treatment and are stable.This is second BEST bus accident in last 20 days. In the previous accident, the bus driver lost control of the vehicle near Kotwal Garden in Mumbai, killing one person and injuring three others.
