Micah Richards wasn't frightened to make a dig despite being part of the BBC's World Cup final coverage with Gabby Logan, Wayne Rooney and Joe Hart on Sunday night06:16, 20 Jul 2026BBC presenter Gabby Logan sent a swift warning to Micah Richards as he followed in Gary Lineker's footsteps to make fun of the broadcaster's decision to remain in Salford for most of their World Cup coverage. Logan, along with Richards, Wayne Rooney and Joe Hart were at MetLife Stadium for Spain's clash with Argentina but had been consigned to a studio in the United Kingdom for much of the tournament based in the USA, Mexico and Canada.‌The BBC's decision drew some mockery in comparison to ITV's New York studio, and it appears that choice might have even frustrated some of the channel's pundits. The hot topic came to the forefront as the top of World Cup highlights came in conversation.‌While Logan highlighted that none of her colleagues had praised the supporters present throughout the tournament, particularly Norway's Viking antics, Richards took an opportunity to make a dig. The former Manchester City star acknowledged that they had not had the opportunity to experience the impact of supporters on the tournament, despite still working for the broadcaster on the night.‌"Nobody said fans," Logan said. "I think the fans have been incredible at this tournament. Every single nation, but there were certain countries like Norway. Fans who really lit it up."Richards quipped: "There are not that many fans in Salford!" Logan returned: "You can't say the S-word again."Lineker, who works with Richards on the Rest of Football podcast, has been able to set up in the United States since parting ways with the BBC. The veteran broadcaster set tongues wagging with a dig of his own when introducing his plan.‌Lineker said: “This World Cup will be different because of all the other ones I’ve done at the BBC.
