U.S. Marshals arrested internet personalities and businessmen Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami on July 18 at the request of the United Kingdom, where they face charges including rape and human trafficking.
The Guardian reported the news, according to Ukrinform.
"The social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in Miami on UK charges by federal authorities," the U.S. Marshals Service said.
The Tate brothers are now awaiting extradition proceedings in the United States. A day earlier, British prosecutors announced 38 additional charges in the case, relating to four more alleged victims.
The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) charged 39-year-old Andrew Tate with seven counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, three counts of causing bodily harm, and 19 additional offenses related to pornography.
